Alhamdulillah. Today was my last class in Gender, Ethnicity, and Class with Dr. Hew. About 3 months I have learned more about gender. Dr. Hew was my great lecturer thought in Gender and Women discrimination. She very open minded person according her experience who are study in Gender since dip until Phd holder.
Now, I would like to shared what I have learned and heard along my class in this semester. Actually, I have my own opinion about Gender and it was be in contradiction with my lecturer thought. She has explain about violent and discrimination to women and children. She said " don't try to blame a women who are wearing a sexy clothes if she was raped by man. We have to blame a man who are doing violent to women!".
Yes. She was right. BUT we must know one thing. In Islamic thought, women are not allowed wearing a sexy clothes or shows their body or 'aurat' to 'bukan muhrim' or 'non muhrim'. WHY? Because...The reasons are to avoid something bad happen to her or attract people especially GUYs or MANs or BOYs to look at you. And addition man are also MUST be a man of faith or the faithful. WHY? Because.. our God ALLAH believed that raped and vehemently among of man to women WILL BE HAPPENS. By doing all of this thinks, women will not be rape and man will no rape women.
Islam thought also reaffirm to man and women MUST learned about ISLAM and believed ALLAH and be faithful. Islam will open your heart and show us a good way through Al-Quran and Sunnah. Human will chance anytime anywhere.
